Midway Chlausmart Winter Market
November 28, 2026 | 12:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Midway Town Square
Vendor Selection & Market Guidelines
The Midway Chlausmärt is inspired by the traditional Christmas markets of Switzerland and Europe and is designed to complement Midway’s Swiss heritage and our Christmas on the Square celebration.
The market will be held outdoors on Saturday, November 28, 2026, from Noon–8:00 PM on Midway Town Square. Midway City will provide the vendor tents to help create a consistent market appearance. Vendors should be prepared for late-November outdoor weather conditions and will be expected to remain open for the full market hours.
Our goal is to create a small, warm and inviting market filled with handcrafted gifts, specialty foods, festive treats and thoughtfully presented vendor displays. Because space is limited, vendors will be carefully selected to create a balanced mix of products and an overall market atmosphere that feels special and distinctly Midway.
What We’re Looking For
Preference will be given to vendors whose products fit one or more of the following categories:
Handcrafted & Artisan Goods
- Handmade ornaments and Christmas décor
- Pottery, woodwork and handcrafted home goods
- Candles, soaps and botanical products
- Jewelry and artisan accessories
- Knit, wool, felted or other winter textiles
- Toys, gifts and other handmade items
Specialty Foods & Holiday Treats
- European- or Swiss-inspired foods
- Baked goods, chocolates and confectionery
- Roasted nuts and other traditional market treats
- Specialty jams, honey, cheeses, meats and pantry items
- Hot chocolate, cider, teas and other warm seasonal beverages
- Other specialty foods appropriate for a European-style Christmas market
Products do not need to be specifically European or Swiss to be considered. Quality, craftsmanship, uniqueness and how well the products complement the overall market will be important considerations.
Market Aesthetic
The atmosphere of the Chlausmärt is an important part of the event. Midway City will provide the vendor tents, helping create a consistent market appearance.
Vendors are encouraged to create warm, festive displays using elements such as:
- Warm white lights
- Evergreen, pinecones and natural greenery
- Wood crates or natural materials
- Plaid, wool, linen or other traditional winter textures
- Simple seasonal signage
- Warm, traditional holiday décor
Displays should feel inviting and complement the European Christmas market atmosphere.
Products Not Well Suited for the Chlausmärt
To preserve the character of the market, the following will generally not be accepted:
- Mass-produced resale merchandise
- Multi-Level Marketing (MLM) businesses
- Franchise or service-based promotional booths
- Electronics, plastic novelty items or flea-market-style merchandise
- Products that do not fit the character or atmosphere of the event
Vendor Selection
Applications will be reviewed by Midway City. Selection will be based on:
- Product quality and uniqueness
- Handmade or locally produced qualities
- Fit with the Christmas market atmosphere
- Overall presentation
- Creating a balanced variety of vendors
Submitting an application does not guarantee acceptance. Because the Chlausmärt is intentionally small, space will be limited.
